1. Overview
This Refund Policy explains how cancellations, returns and refunds work for transactions made through the MBharat platform, operated by MBharat Company Pvt Ltd. Because MBharat is a marketplace connecting independent Entrepreneurs with Customers, each Entrepreneur may publish their own cancellation and return terms on their listings. Where an Entrepreneur's stated policy is more generous than this document, the Entrepreneur's policy applies. This Policy should be read with our Terms & Conditions.
2. Order Cancellations
- By the Customer: You may cancel an order free of charge before the Entrepreneur has accepted or started preparing it. Once preparation, customisation or dispatch has begun, cancellation may not be possible or may attract a deduction for costs incurred.
- Made-to-order & perishable items: Custom-made products, personalised items and perishable goods (including food) generally cannot be cancelled once accepted.
- By the Entrepreneur: If an Entrepreneur cancels a confirmed order (for example, due to stock or capacity issues), you will receive a full refund of the amount paid.
3. Returns & Replacements
You may request a return or replacement within 48 hours of delivery if:
- the item received is damaged, defective or spoiled;
- the wrong item or quantity was delivered;
- the item materially differs from its description on the listing.
To be eligible, the item should be unused, in its original condition and packaging, with proof of purchase. Please share clear photos or a video of the issue when raising the request. The following are typically not eligible for return: perishable goods, personalised or made-to-order items, intimate or hygiene products, digital items, and items damaged by misuse.
4. Services, Workshops & Exhibitions
- Services: Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled time are eligible for a full refund. Later cancellations or no-shows may not be refundable.
- Workshops & events: Refund eligibility is set by the organiser and shown at the time of booking. If an organiser cancels or reschedules an event, you may choose a full refund or a credit for a future session.
5. How to Raise a Refund Request
- Go to My Orders in the MBharat app and select the relevant order.
- Choose Report an issue / Request refund and provide details and supporting photos.
- The Entrepreneur has 3 business days to respond. If unresolved, contact MBharat support at info@mbharat.com and our team will mediate.
6. Refund Method & Timelines
- Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method used for the purchase.
- Refunds are typically processed within 2 business days of approval; your bank or payment provider may take an additional 5–7 business days to credit the amount.
- Refunds are made in Indian Rupees (INR). Any payment gateway charges on genuine, approved refunds are borne by MBharat or the Entrepreneur, not the Customer.
- Delivery or convenience fees may be non-refundable where the service was already performed, except where the fault lies with the Entrepreneur or MBharat.
7. Platform & Subscription Fees (Entrepreneurs)
Platform fees, featured-listing charges, advertisements and subscription plans purchased by Entrepreneurs are non-refundable once the service period has started, unless required by law or expressly stated otherwise at purchase.
8. Fraud & Abuse
Repeated or clearly abusive refund claims, or claims found to be fraudulent, may lead to rejection of the request and suspension of the account.
